Why down with doodles?
There were a few reasons why we started this business.
These last few years have been a rollercoaster for our little family. In 2020, my husband was diagnosed with cancer, so I knew there would be a disruption with our ability to earn an income. Being that we have four kids who are all still in school and who are all actively involved in sports, I knew that my options would be limited with regards to how much time I could spend outside the home. On top of all of this, our eldest son, Takai, has Down syndrome and isn’t able to be at home on his own.
So, I started researching what it would take to operate a dog breeding business and the more I discovered, the more it just seemed to fit with what my family needed.
We absolutely love dogs and have the space to raise them.
In addition to the practicality of running this type of business, Takai has always shown a special connection to the dogs in our lives. I just knew this would be the perfect opportunity to give him something to help out with as he turns 18 and transitions into adulthood. He is so excited to be able to help out and give all his love to these amazing animals.
So, it was settled. Everyone was on board and for the first time in a long time, we were genuinely excited for our future. The next step was to select a breed. This was an easy choice to make once we started working with Australian Labradoodles. We wanted a dog that checked all of the boxes, but more so, we wanted one that we could love. Never did we expect how quickly she would love us. With my husbands cancer now in remission, the future looks bright here at downwithdoodles!
Thank you for taking the time to visit us and we look forward to sharing our bright future with you and yours!
